More IT Fun
IT builds a new help desk system for the organization where this pilot fish works, and it's a big improvement.
"Now users could enter help desk tickets from anywhere and have the ticket routed to the right person," says fish.
"Our CIO made the decision that this help desk could be used for anything, PC-related or not. For example, it could be used for building maintenance requests.
"About three days into the new help desk, a ticket is entered requesting building service -- there was a window leaking.
"My CIO was reading all of the calls. To this one he dutifully responded: 'Please enter your version of Windows when opening a ticket.'"

Dead iPod Remembered As Expensive

VENTURA, CA—A third-generation, 30-GB iPod, serial number AP356372, died early Monday morning at age 2. "I'll never forget all the great music it used to play during my workouts," said the late iPod's owner Sarah Zartman at a brief memorial held over the junk drawer. "It was convenient, portable, and really pricey—almost $500." Zartman said that, had she known the iPod's lithium-ion battery would have such a short lifespan, she might have spent more time listening to it. AP356372 is survived by a BlackBerry.

Hahaha,
The sad part the whole battery issue is true, and I am so glad I didn't get an iPod.

Actually it only takes a guitar pick to open the ipod and replace the battery.

Yeah most DAPs have replaceable bateries. Just might not be an upfront process. But then iPods users in general...

Well its easy to open but the fact that the batteries dont last is another issue. From what I have heard the average life is 8-10months.
CT you know whats interesting? Creative Labs manufactures the Dell DJ's if you ever look at the firmware display and check the internals they are very similar except Dell releases more firmware updates and have much better customer service than Creative.

Depends which creative models you have. I have a 5GB Zen Micro, and it has a replaceable battery, and creative has released at least 10 updates for it. They release something new every few weeks for it

Yep I would agree that they have spent their time on releasing updates for the Micro, but the Zen Xtra and Zen Touch users get nothing. The Zen Touch has not gotten a firmware update since December 7. With services such as Yahoo Music, Playforsure, Audible, and MTP support avalible we want to have the benefits, but Creative has put off the release for several months, and made promises that were never fulfilled.
I am happy with the performance of the player, and its stablity but what me and some other users on the support website are after is updated features, and bugs such as the EQ being messed up.
I keep checking but it looks like I may have to wait another 3-4 months before a firmware update is released.

That Sux. Ditch it and get a micro, lol. I played around with the Zen Touch at work, and it seems to clunky. A lot of the newer devices are getting bigger again. The Iriver h10 5GB is nice, and you can get a 20GB version for $70CDN more, makes sense doesn't it? Until you open the package and see the 20GB is twice as thick. All in all, it seems OEMs aren't putting in the effort
