More IT Fun

IT builds a new help desk system for the organization where this pilot fish works, and it's a big improvement.

"Now users could enter help desk tickets from anywhere and have the ticket routed to the right person," says fish.

"Our CIO made the decision that this help desk could be used for anything, PC-related or not. For example, it could be used for building maintenance requests.

"About three days into the new help desk, a ticket is entered requesting building service -- there was a window leaking.

"My CIO was reading all of the calls. To this one he dutifully responded: 'Please enter your version of Windows when opening a ticket.'"

Ipod Nano

OK.....Christmas is coming and I need some help deciding...to Nano or not to Nano? Anyone have any experiences with the Ipod Nano yet? I think I am sold on the Nano, but will entertain information from the collective.

Thanks....

Hey DRS!!! Glad to see you around!

Well goes like this...alot of em had screen problems in the beginning...some going within hours of purchase...Apple was going to try to charge for replacement screens but then decided that would be a bad idea so they are replacing any defective units with new screens or new units.

That said they have to have that problem solved with the current production. kind of like the axims when they first came out...pretty sweet little unit and virtually indestructable...there's a thread in this forum somewhere with the link to the two kids that tried to destroy one.

I have a 20gb third gen and the thing is just really sweet also. For my money I would definitely go ipod something or other.

The ipod nano is great, and as I sell them, i've seen it all, however, knowing you wait a week or so and pick up the ipod video for pennies more

i got my sister a nano....for her bday....its really sweet...but its lacking in storage space. A friend of mine purchased a 3 gen 20 gig and he really likes it...but battery life on the Hd models tend to be bad...on the nano its probably quite a bit better. but i dont know from experience. I want to buy an ipod, but i cant stand the clickwheel design and i dont want to buy a refurb...but if you need the space, then get a refurb from here:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL....3.1.1.0?98,87

and get a battery replacement from here:

http://www.epowermac.com.au/product....ion=1&P_ID=394

otherwise if money and the click wheel dont matter and you dont need the space, then just get the nano...personally the most appealing to me is the video just bc i need atleast 20 gig to hold all of my music...if you dont want apple then ive heard good things about iriver...

Like I said I have a 3rd gen 20gb and LOVE IT! If you want a longer lasting battery just get a 950mah off ebay for like less than $20

Your first link doesn't work. Go to The Apple Store and on the bottom left side is the link to the refurbished section.

We Sell those at my Work! They're awesome, wicked display. Not great if you have big fingers though, the controls are on the side and look like the ipod wheel only in buttons
