Creative Labs teamed up at CES 2006 with Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel to introduce their new line of Fatal1ty branded Sound Blaster sound cards for gaming. The new card boasts X-Fi. CMSS-3D surround sound technology, 24-bit Crystalizer and an amazing 109 dB SNR that build an incredibly real game world around you, even from headphones.
The show included a fragging contest that had increasing levels of prizes for the amount of points you could score playing against John. We caught one game playing against a girl named V3nus. Sorry to say, for V3nus, it was lights out.
On first look, the Crystalizer technology of these new Creative cards seems to do a fairly competent job of directing the sound in the headphones to make it feel like 3-D. Can't wait to try one out on an extended basis. Look for alot more to come from Creative on this issue as it seems to be the next wave of sound for all headphone users.
Also look for alot more from Fatal1ty as this kid's got it goin' on as they say!
